Anyone else seeing the whammy pedal Jim's plugged into? I think the long-lost guitar geek part of me just confused itself

It's an octave divider. Or, as Tal Farlow called his, an "After Burner". Tal made his out of old radio parts. He usually used it at the end of tunes when he would trade fours.
