Ditto here. Not sure where in NH he's going to be, but I'm about 45 minutes from the corner of VT/NH and MA and I hope Stew would feel free to ask for ANYTHING he might possibly need from me. Wish I had an ERB to offer him in case he needed to get by, but he's MORE than welcome to take my Cirrus 4 (tho being an active 4 string, it's about as far from his norm as you can get :eek: ) for as long as he wants or needs. (Maybe it will learn something in the process it can teach me.)

Hey James, Larry Davis from Gallery Hardwoods just left my shop, and he said he would donate the wood for Stews bass. Let me know if you have some suggestions for what would look cool. It needs to be a workhorse, but I want to do something that looks special too. I'll see if other vendors will donate parts.

I'm sure there are lots of other players who may have lost gear in the storm (or worse, their lives, or the lives of loved ones), and I wish we could help all of them. I don't want anyone to think that Stew is more deserving than anyone else. He's a very close friend of mine, and he has played my basses almost from the beginning. I don't have the means to do much, but I can do this for my friend.

hey all,

there is so much I need to do and say now that I am back in the world. first and foremost I just need to say THANK YOU to everyone for all the incredible kindness and generosity. I am absolutely overwhelmed and hardly feel deserving. I am without any way to express my gratitude and awe at this outpouring of humanity.

I still have dozens of people back in New Orleans to try and locate, but just now I am with my family and grateful and happy and lucky.

I wrote a piece about what it was like inside the Superdome and I will post it somewhere on the net or maybe try and get it to the media, but for now there are hundreds of emails and phone calls I have to answer.

thank you all so much for the kindness and please know that I am indebted to you all for your compassion and caring. this has been the most profound experience of my life and I am still trying to find a way to honor that.

I will write more as soon as I can. please stay well and keep it deep!

I am just reeling from all of this and can't believe that there has ever been anything about me that deserves all that is coming my way now... I am so incredibly lucky!!

there is nothing I need at the moment -- I have 3 sets of clothes, food, a place to sleep, wonderful friends, and a family that loves me. is there more in life?

Never have I met a more deserving, caring, warm and grateful person as you. I am overwhelmed also by this turn of life and am so profoundly grateful that you are alive and well. I sent you a private letter among your hundreds (thousands I bet) so I know I will hear from you when you can. KNow that we love you and I miss you and so want to talk to you but I will not bug ya.. take care and tell your family we are very grateful too, for your recovery and your safety.

very glad to see you back and thinking positive Stew, all this is due to the fact that you're one hell of a cool guy, I really hope all you loved ones are ok in NO and that your dog Jaxon is safe somewhere. you just keep up those good vibes and things will get back in the pocket!! :cool:

again, thanks! I cannot tell you how often I have leaky eyes these days: tears of gratitude and joy just seems to come up all the time. it is going to take me a while to get my life together and to get caught up on all my correspondence, but I am confident that I'll get a handle on both.

I am luckier than I deserve to be but I am trying not to question that. thank you all for the kind words, thoughts, and gestures!

Jana, I owe you a big email. I hope you can wait just a bit longer before it comes!

When you get right down to it there isn't, Stew. Glad that you have all your family around you right now.
