Sticker inlays / fretless bass question

My question. Has anybody used custom sticker inlays and if so, can you feel them? Does it affect your playing? And what about on a fretless bass? Strange question I know

I've used them on a few of my fretted basses, don't feel them and stay in place, but can be removed if necessary.

technically on a fretted instrument you shouldn't be pushing the string al the way down to the board and so you shouldn't feel them.

on a fretless you are pushing down to the wood and you may feel them, and i suspect they may wear away pretty quick
