Stingray aftermarket 2 band pre

The original is a bit blurry so I'm going to redraw it. Will keep the layout and wiring the same to avoid confusion but the traces may move slightly as it'll be on a fixed grid.

For those who want one, it'll be just the cost of a beer (to keep me lubricated while working) + shipping.

Apparently Jeff has been doing something right. His Ebay feedback bears that out. He has shown that he cares for what he does by standing in front of the fire here on TB...which can be a very tough audience.

The bottomline is that it is a product that is offered at a substantially reduced cost over the East offering. Grant it, it is only $40 and some change but it should work. And it should give the appearance of being a professionally manufacturing dispite the reasonable costs.

I do believe that you do get what you pay for. But I think that the East pre is out of my price spec. The East setup is a complete package with plate, pots and wiring. But I just want something more simple like Jeff is offering here.

You might have soldered something up wrong. I messed up at first on the one I've got setup as a stompbox. It was a bitch troubleshooting it but I got it up and running. You guys are crazy if you think these are crap. It's one of the best sounding active pres I've used.

its soldered correctly. I traced every wire a million times. I am getting a clean signal despite the voltage leakage. there is something bad on the board.

That's not the diagram that came with mine. That might be the problem. The one I have looks more like this below. What I am getting at is you need a special jack. I forget the model number but it disconnects the battery turning off the preamp when you unplug your bass. You could get away with a stereo jack but the battery will be on even when the bass is unplugged. Ernie Ball sells the right jack that's where I got mine.
