Stingray HH or Gibson T-Bird?

I am in the market for a new bass, and definitely want one with 2 humbuckers. I am torn between the versatility of the Stingray versus the darker tone of a T-Bird. Any advice? For reference, I really like heavy metal, and old-school blues.

I have an 07 Stingray HH. It is a fantastic instrument. I bought it as an addition to my 98 Stringray H. I really enjoy the pickup/coil selector. I found myself using the two inner coils most often- giving sort of a P bass sound, and deviating a bit from the traditional 'ray sound. There's nothing wrong with a T-bird, but I don't think it'll cut through the mix like a 'ray. I've used my 'ray for metal and punk and hard rock with really great results.

I would go with the Stingray. The T-Bird basses are not that versatile and have some of the worst neck dive in the business. The only thing they have going for them is they look cool but then again, so do the Stingrays.

Stingray stingray stingray. I owned an Epiphone Thunderbird for a couple of years, I know its not a Gibson, but it was one of the most unbalanced basses I've ever played, it also had a tendancy to be very muddy sounding. I was also not a fan of the finish on the Thunderbirds neck, made it difficult to move quickly. The Stingray is an amazing bass, the neck is silky smooth and its nicely balanced. I own the single humbucker model and it cuts through the mix a lot better than the Thunderbird ever did.
