I can definitely hear the difference between the various pickup positions. The HH is a very versatile bass.I mean, the way I see it is: Do I love the single H, "classic Stingray" tone enough to forego 4 additional tonal options? For me, the answer is heck no. But, I know some folks that can hear the difference between a single H and an HH with the bridge solo'ed.

It is very versatile but me and a lot of people want one sound and that to be there soundI can definitely hear the difference between the various pickup positions. The HH is a very versatile bass.

alot of people talk about HH not being the same to a H but i think that's all in their head it sounds the same to me and I also saw a post by sterling ball i think saying the HH bridge pickup was in the sweet spot location
I wanted to get the lightest possible so went from the single H and I think the tone is good enough and the EQ flexible enough to get all I need. Also I do like the space.
I thought I'd like a thumb rest and got a Zero Mod but actually I never use it and dislike the plucking the string. What I play does not call for that light touch. Probably will go on sale soon
Now, if Ball got smart, they'd start putting singles in the necks instead of two hummers. Keep it tight, and fatten the buck at the same time.Has anyone here used a stingray HH I played one the other day but I want to know what y’all think of it.
Selling the zero mod or the stingray?
