Stingray players, how do you EQ?

On my SR5 USA SUB with a 2-band pre, I max the bass control and probably go about halfway on the treble (no center detent so I’d assume it’s about flat). On my SR5 HH, I boost the bass to about 3/4 up when using the first position (bridge H) reduce the mids to about a 1/4 and leave the treble at center. When using any other positions, I bring the bass back down to the center detent when using any other selector switch positions. For position 3 (both HH), I’ll boost mids just a bit, but leave everything else flat.
Anticipating this to moved to a more appropriate forum.

On my SR5 3-band, I leave all onboard preamp controls in their flat/center detent position and do any EQing at my amp or, when on IEMs, on my mixer channel. On IEMs, I seldom have to EQ things because all my basses sound great to me in my IEMs with little to no EQing. I believe my REDDI Tube DI is a significant part of that.
EQ-ing the snot out out of your bass tone is fine, not it's not a requirement nor a rite of passage....

On the Ray34 I’m finding it sounds great starting at 0 on all knobs pushing up the bass a bit under half and then adding a touch of treble and mid. I think it really depends on how your action is set up and the pickup height. This is what works best for me. Super happy with the sound.
I always loved the feel and look of Rays but could never get along with the tone. This was until I got a Stingray Classic 2 band eq, several months ago. I usually cut some treble and it sounds great with my Aguilar TH and DB 2x12. I had an early 2000s or late 90s 3 band eq and hated the tone.
So far, treble and mid at the noon indent, bass a little less than the indent, 11 or 10?
On my sabres full bass full treble, my pickup height is higher than normal and my volume is much lower than normal 1/4 of the way up, the less volume the less string noise.
On my three band stingray bass full and treble 5/6 the way up and the mids cut very slightly, slightly louder than my sabres but still less than 1/4 of the way up, in the curve of the 2eq the bass and treble sit higher above the mids than on the 3eq at full blast so to match the sound, you cut the mids a bit

Fretted 4 string, East 2-band EQ with Nordy alnico (and now SD Ceramic) pickups. Treble centered or slightly above (maybe 1:00 position). Bass between 11:00 and 1:00. Volume on full.
I prefer a bit of a thinner sound. Sort of like a fat J bridge pickup. If I want fat, I'll play the P bass.

This set up uses nearly the exact same amp EQ on my SVT, SWR, or Mesa TT800 as it would for a Fender bass.

Older SR5 3 band owner here.
Series - Bass boosted 50%, Mids boosted just past detent, Highs cut just past detent.
Single Coil - Bass boosted 50%, Mids cut just past detent, Highs boosted 50%
Parallel - Bass boosted 50%, Mids flat, Highs flat

When I had a 3-band:
Bass: boost anywhere between just off detent to 50%
Mids: cut just past detent
Treble: usually at detent, but depending on string brightness/age, it could have gone +/- just off detent.

On my 3 band SR, I only boost the mids a bit...depending on the room. Sometimes I have to pull down the treble, sometimes the bass. Most times, they are centered and the mids are boosted a bit.
Isn't the Treble on the Classic 2 band boost only? In which case you're not cutting it, just boosting it gently?
On my SR 5 3-band, bass gets slight boost, the rest in center.
On my SR Classic 4 2-band, bass gets rolled up a fair bit, treble dialed almost all the way back. I also have Cobalt flats on there
