Is it true that there is more boost available on the new specials? I thought the extra 9 volts was just there for headroom?The Stingray Special has a differently voiced pre amp and more headroom (18 volt pre amp) - the mid range is significantly different and there is far more bass boost available. I tend to start with everything at centre on these.
Isn't the Treble on the Classic 2 band boost only? In which case you're not cutting it, just boosting it gently?
