Stingray replacement bridge

Hey, searched and couldn't find anything.



I have a stingray style bass and looking to upgrade the bridge.



Just wondered if anyone's got any pictures of their stingrays with upgraded bridges not the usual style. Not sure if that is sacrilege or not. Only one I can find is the albridge ones but shipping to the UK would be mental money.

I may as well offer this, the OEM Stingray bridge is as good as any replacement bridge you can find.

But folks with such notions as yours won’t settle for that answer. So good luck with your search. I guess I could as least do that….

He said "StingRay style" so it probably doesn't have a bridge anything like as good as a StingRay (particularly the mute bridge).

O.P. I seem to remember Tim Commerford used a hipshot bridge on his StingRay, back in the early RATM days.

Anything wrong with the existing bridge or is it a matter of aesthetics?

Yeah more for aesthetic really. It isn't a proper stingray bridge. I have a vintage copy stingray.

I seem to remember Tim Commerford used a hipshot bridge on his StingRay

I think the Hipshot 'Vintage' is worth a closer look. It has the lip over the ball ends but does not have the stud mounts of the original StingRay. But then nor does the latest StingRay Special. The quick release slots look pretty useful:
