Stolen Benavente SCD5 - Atlanta

Just saw the vid on your site, I don't think that I realized I was on camera. Glad you caught it, so I can figure out that motown groove I was doing, because I totally don't remember playing it.

Remember this pic from '07 WS NAMM Bud?

Please give my best to Linny!

Yep, I remember that pic and I think you took another with me and the six string in Nashville.

I told Linny the whole story this morning about you getting the bass back. She's happy for you and says "Hi". She'll be in Atlanta for a conference in the fall. I forget the date. I suggested she swing by ABG if she has the time.

I know that she would like the new ABG, it's not too far from GA Tech and downtown. Give her my cell, if there is any thing my wife and I can help with, please tell her to not think twice to call us.

That's it.

I'll give Lynda the message...now back to playing phone tag.

That is VERY cool that the lost (stolen) bass made it home safely.

There must be lessons to learn in that story!

fwiw, as one (of the many) who contributed to your replacement bass, no need to send me $$$. I would encourage you to wait for the opportunity to 'pay it forward'. I'm sure the right moment will come along and you'll be able to help meet a need in someone's life.

Enjoy!

Same here!

Just a thought, but It'd be nice to use that cash for something for Adrian's family...

Not a bad thought at all, though I do know that Adrian was encouraging people to donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, so that might also be an idea.

Tom.

Well, I brought the SCD5 on the road with me last week and really had a bunch of time in the van thinking about which bass to sell: the SCD5 or the SCD6. Since most of my 5 string needs are being covered by the Nordy and my SCD6 has really opened up a lot for me harmonically....

I have decided to put the SCD5 Redwood Bennie on consignment at Atlanta Bass Gallery, where I went today to drop it off. So, if you are interested in purchasing it, you can either go there or contact me. Serious inquiries only, I did instruct Jim to ONLY let potential buyers try it out, to keep wear to a minimum. So with that said, please don't just head there to play it, unless you are interested in taking it home.

**With the sale of that bass, I'm going to donate a portion to St. Jude's, Pay back those that donated and put some towards the SCD6's debt that is still on my credit cards.**

... on another note, I was contacted this weekend by the new owner of the SSW fretless bass I donated to CT&Birdsong, so he could sell it to defray some of his high medical bills debt. Congrats Ben, glad it got sold recently!!
