Morning thread. Coffee's Great.

I could definitely be into a Dino Jr esque project, also i really like the beyond album.

Moved a few things around on my board last night for better accessibility. After lugging the board around this weekend, I gave some thought to downsizing. I assume this is the natural progression: Build mega board: Get sick of lugging mega board around. However when I think of my "essentials" I really only see myself knocking off a few inches in any dimension. Then I thought about the PT's but again I would only be able to downsize to a PT3 which would save a few nominal inches and probably a bit of weight. Then I thought about a minimalist setup, and end up with the same list of "essentials." So I guess I'm pretty happy with my current variety and selection of pedals.... Until I find an irresistible deal that inevitably will knock something off.

Yeah I ended up with a full pt pro a yr ago in a prog/math rock thing. 14 pedals in loops. It was ridiculous and HEAVY. Current board (pt2) still looks big but I use most stuff on it and it doesn't take 4 people to carry. It seems most people are constantly upsizing/grading and minimizing their setups.

Anyone else like to do one pedal/ foot switch only, every now and again? Helps be write new parts or attack songs from another angle. Stripping it down.

In Cstvt I use a Rat and a Tuner, that's it.

Also when I'm at home my standard setup is Ric > Dirt Pedal (changes month to month) > Tuner > Space Echo > Amp.

I've got other stuff to mess around with when I feel inclined, but generally I just run a distortion and delay for writing new riffs and just jamming.

As much as I love pedals I've never had a pedal board. I have thought about attaching them to the top of my head though.

When I leave for practice I have an internal struggle about which pedal I should bring.

A dirt pedal wins out over my tuner most days.

I just hit harder if I'm out of tune or blame the guitarist.

No one's noticed yet.

Cool! I listened to all of thee Great Barrier Reefer and Hate Asbury last night during a long epic sesh. When the music stopped my body was still trying to hear something, silence felt wierd.

Just a plain RAT? Does it have much low end loss?

I swore for a long time that I wasn't going to get a pedal board, I was just using 1 dirt pedal anyway. Then I got a BBM for more low-gain stuff. Then I got a pedal tuner so I could mute while I tune. Then I decided to use delay in one song. By that point it was just easier to stick it all on a pedal board. I still have a little room, but I'm not in a huge rush to add to it. I might get some kind of modulation pedal, but beyond that I don't really see myself ever needing to upgrade to a bigger board.

It's pretty nice, I can put all of my cables in the extra pouch.

I'm not sure what exact model I have, it's been rehoused. Toastfuzz told me it looks like a 1986, though. There's a little bit of low end loss, but not much. It gives it a nice crunchy tone that sounds excellent in my band mix.

I love picking them up and tossing them in a bag while still connected. Untangling at practice is the best part!

I have the Pedaltrain Mini I guess... holds 5-6 max in a row, though I usually only have 3 or 4. But the pedalboard comes with a handy zipper carrying bag, that also holds multiple 1Spot adaptors, 9v and 12v wall warts, patch cables, instrument cables, speaker cables, amp power cables, more instrument cables, an acoustic guitar tuner, earplugs, and an iron-on rainbow patch. I nearly have to take the pedals out of it to make room for more misc. gear.

Thanks to everyone who is downloading the live roadburn sets, and have listened to our past records in anticipation, that's totally awesome to hear.

I'm really proud of how the live sets came out, the SWD full set I actually prefer to the album version, it's a little slower and I like the tones more.

The other set has a bunch of cool stuff going on, really stoked on how Hate Ashbury turned out especially the "quiet" part since we kind of just jammed on it for a few minutes and I think it came out pretty cool. Also helps that my tone was really gnarly for that whole set.

Before I play a show with this band, I'll be picking up a pedaltrain jr or something. For right now I'm using this plywood one I bought off ebay. Not the greatest but it keeps everything together. I still have one show that shall forever live in infamy because the floor was nasty and my pedals ended up unplugging and popping and fizzing all over the place. That wasn't even the worst thing that happened that show either lol.

Going to be buying and selling a few pedals, then it's on to AMPS! :bassist::bassist::bassist:
