a "TB in real life" moment happened to me on saturday.

i had an older in-house sound guy for a gig who produces for indie-acoustic bands around auckland. he saw my 70s amp, 60s cabinet and 70s bass and asked why i had them - "they were **** then, and they're **** now" were his exact words.

you should have seen his face when i let the amp warm up and hit a fuzzed out low C. it was like watching someone get converted. haha.

NICE. Yeah so many bassisst around here run combos or direct I get lots of that *** attitude. Then we sound check.

That guy in that thread is incredibly lame. Try living in Washington where it rains 250+ days out of the year. I've lugged my gear in the rain so many times and my stuff is still in great shape. As long as your gear isn't sitting in the rain for an extended period of time, it's not gonna hurt it. That guy just sounds lazy. He'd be out of my band in a heartbeat.

Cleaned up the board a bit. Plenty of room for a wizard fuzz...

hey laz do you use the boss before the bluebeard often? with my ric, the fuzz had so much more definition and character (nonsense words, i know) without the buffer beforehand. something magic about the passive pups working with that fuzz.

Well before my tuner was at the end of my board because I used it as a mute. Now I use the volume pedal as a mute. I really couldn't tell you if it makes a difference or not, mainly because the same time that I reorganized my board I also did a tone tweak overhaul with my pedal and amp settings. I really don't know anything about buffered signal or true bypass or any of that shenanigans. Toast told me it would probably be a good idea to stick the tuner at the front so I did. Sounds great to me.

No actual differences than the paint. Gold was one of the options when I ordered from Prymaxe when it first came out and it looks awesome.

And regarding that rain thread, ****ing hilarious. Oh no my cab might get wet! Wow. We actually used to cancel Billows practices if it rained really hard, but that had nothing to do with our gear getting wet. In DC your commute to anywhere automatically was increased 3 fold when it rained, so a 40 min drive to practice turned into 2 hours.
