I like the idea of the power switching for getting that sweet sound at different volumes. It's one of the things I like about the D-180 I have.

I like the idea of the power switching for getting that sweet sound at different volumes. It's one of the things I like about the D-180 I have.
That's silly. I see more women at doom shows than at any other variety of metal show except black metal.
I always assumed it was someone's phone pooping out on quotation marks or periods or something. I didn't point it out, so as to avoid awkward moments...

Yeah I'm also Interested in stuff like that. I kind of wish my AD200B had a half power switch. It rattles the fvck out of the stuff in my basement. Sounds killer though but I figure half power would be more appropriate for rocking out at home and recording.
If I ever get something from dunwich I'd want it to have switching power.
The D-180 doesn't have a half-power switch. It has this weird voltage regulation thing going on whenever the master control isn't all the way on. It has the advantage of getting that thick overdrive at lower volumes, but the disadvantage in that all the change in output seems to be between 7-9.5 on the knob.

Well that answers that question. I didn't point it out either, cuz I didn't want to be the internet spelling/grammar/html cop. I was curious, though.
Tell me about it. Conversation went like this.
me: So what bands are you into?
him: I don't know a lot of bands, but I like Down.
*warning flags that his point of reference is Down and I did not list them as an influence.
me: Well, do you know any of the bands I listed?
him: not really
me: what do you want to tune to?
him: I play a 7 string, I am in drop A
me: oh. what do you think the vocal style would sound like? *tyrying to see if we really are on the same page or not
him: can you sing pretty? girls won't come to our shows if we scream...
me: well, this other guy emailed me first, so I am going to give him the first shot...
seriously. Although, I would have gave him a shot. It did not sound like a good fit from the start and I didn't want to settle AGAIN.
haha yeah I was also wondering what the hell was up with that as well. I thought it was someone screwing up posting the help smiley or something.
My poor Ibby P never gets shown off enough, because its the only bass I keep in standard tuning. That pretty much keeps it delegated to bass lessons, theory practice, and noodling around under the influence in my living room.

Yeah we went through some pretty similar facepalm moments when I was in a fast thrashy but melodic kind of metal band and we were looking for a lead guitarist.
Some kid replied and we set up a jam. We had put influences like old Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth. So I told him learn this Iced Earth tune and we'll show you some of our originals.
This kid shows up wanting to jam Avenged Sevenfold
...he could barely even play and when the rhythm guitarist said we were going out for a "tree" break he seemed mortified haha. It wasn't long after that that he hightailed it out of there.That looks and sounds cool. I want days of fuzz tone.....
Can someone point me where to learning about pedals process the sounds? I want to understand how these boxes get the signal and fux with it.
