Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 13: The Lost Thread

I love Jesus Lizard as well...Duane's an old buddy. I play for a band called Legendary ShackShakers...he did over 3 years with us before taking a hiatus for Mike Patton, who to be fair, has a lot more money than us :D

Duane did all the guitar on our last record "Agridustrial"

Nice! I saw you guys some years back at Canal Street Tavern in Dayton. I think you were opening up Rev Horton Heat. Your singer dude kept ripping out his chest chairs and eventually his pubes and was throwing them at the crowd. Wild, Bad @ss sh!t for sure.

Yeah they introduced those like last year or something, once I actually took a look at them they're pretty cool. I'd play one, but I'm all set on basses...except for a full scale hollowbody...and maybe a Bean

I still would like a double humbucker in the arsenal. That would do the job nicely. I love basses with powerful buckers in them. A cheap bass that I tried for Squires and Giggles at GC that slammed power all passive and had split coil too was this new model Schecter Raiden. I could not get over how nice it felt and how intense the pickups were and so cheap. Of course I would rather rock that Gibby

I could never get into the necks on schecter/ibanez/spectors I like huge baseball bat necks with a round radius. I played thin flat necks when I was younger, I feel much more comfortable with my current basses though.

Although I had a Ibanez ATK305 from the 90's that was amazing. Only Ibanez I ever played that I liked, and I really liked it.

"Laz, sorry but your bass got sent back to us, something about it setting off too many metal detectors/alarms at UPS." You just got laz'd...APRIL FOOLS

Did music store rounds, got to play an Dwarfcraft Eau Claire Thunder, I think his stuff is just too glitchy for my tastes, sounded really good though.

Played a Turbo Rat, actually the first rat Ive ever tried, I really it, the GAS for a Dunwich VT is now over 9000!!!

There was a metal neck Kramer, that was cool, on the list of way in the future buys. Their controls are always confusing to me, what does what. Same thing with old Carvins.

Played a Hellcat VI, the second time I've actually played a VI type bass, they just dont do it for me how I want them too. It seems like a great idea that I would love, but they are just stuck between a bass and guitar. It doesnt do either very well, its just kindve this thing I dont know whether to play muddy chords on or ignore the B and e strings and deal with a bass with super tight string spacing.

I love Finding Big Foot on the history channel. One of my favorite hats is the GONE SQUATCHIN hat Bobo wears.

Guitar player texted me that the guy that sets up DunaJam emailed him about once we get vinyl out hell see about getting us on the line up! VEGA at DunaJam 2014? Were gonna try our best.

My favorite neck is my '74 A width p bass. Perfect amount of chunk with a jazz taper.

I will have by later tonight. Like me some Bigfoot movies.

Have you ever seen the SyFy channel movie "Bigfoot" with Danny Bonaduce and the guy who played Greg Brady?

Hysterical.
