Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 5

Look elsewhere.

There are too many speaker cab makers out there to have to deal with one who not only has zero customer service, but actually goes out of their way to offend potential customers. Why put up with this kind of disregard for customers who are willing to shell out their hard-earned cash? They're "back" now but I guarantee they won't be around for long.

Guess who emailed me today about building this...
Cool. I would like to have one other company to consider atleast. Olde Crow looks cool but is way out of budget. I could get a fEarful for what they want to charge. Monolith and Atlas are right about the same, cept I would have to pay shipping with Monolith. Emperor is about 100 more, but damn it looks so cool and so many bands I listen to use them. The Hex cabs stuff also looks neat but the facebook said they are all made in a roadcase. That is going to put them out of my weight requirement.

I want to check with atleast one more place and am now considering going with a 2x12 to start and then adding a 15 later. Any opinions on that setup or any other companies to consider? Thanks again guys. You are all super cool and if we met in real life, I'm sure we would all be friends. I'll echo that I consider you guys my internet bass brothers. Laters.

just my opinion, two veritcle 212's would be a pretty sick rig that would be easy to move... i'm not a fan of mixing cabs.

two monolith 115-BH would be pretty rad too, it works for Big Business! they also come w/ casters

lots of folks give emperor great reviews, but i heard you have to be very specific about the drivers they use, otherwise they will use whatever they have laying around.

Verellen is another name to check out. I don't have much experience with them but I'd say it appears along the same lines.

I'm real happy with the Emperors I have. REAL happy. Best cabinet setup I've had so far(and I've had plenty). Now that the speakers are pretty much broken in, they're exactly what I was hoping for. Tons of low end...front ported & 18 in deep :D :D :D

They were also super quick about getting mine built...3 weeks got me my 2 4x10s...

ALSO...I'm hittin the road for a few days in January. Not too far from home, but it still counts!!! COME HANG OUT!!!

Have fun Jeremy! If the Cleveland show was a weekend show I'd make the drive up from Pittsburgh assuming I'm moved by then.

Anyone have any experience with the Ampeg BA combos? My Peavey is on its way back to the manufacturer for warranty repair... using one of the other band's Ampeg 115 tonight. Not sure how well that's going to work with the 412s my guitarists are using but whatever =P

I have a BA-115T that is a decent practice amp but you'll be hard pressed keep up with 412'a without PA support.
