Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 8 - Insert witty title...

Would this be loud enough with a LM2 head and a compact 1X15 to get the whole 500 watts? Maybe have a BDDI in front of the LM2?

Since your going to ask why, ill go ahead and explain....the amp will send half of the Watts to each cab. That means the 610 wont even be cookin yet as its Watts are divided among 6 speakers as opposed to the one in the other cab...as you turn up to get the 610 going the 15will be struggling from absorbing all the volume in one driver and get blown most likely when playin at loud volumes.

Ignore my response.

If you wanted to run a second cab with that you are better off with a 215!

the mesa 610 is sweet! i'd suggest a second 610! more surface area, i prefer 10 inch speakers, and i don't like mixing speaker sizes (i've read too many JimmyM rants). that said, one cab is probably more than enough w/ a LM2.

Unrelated news, new Pelican streams one The Onion AV Club:

I was going to go link the Osedax (beebassdude's band) backline photo and just realized that doperigs.com no longer exists. Not a surprise as it hadn't been updated for a long time. Too bad. I liked the idea, especially since they did a section on my band.

Speaking of, I can't wait to see an updated version of the Osedax backline once Mike has all his cabs in a row again.
