The Dually still has the dispersion characteristics of a 215. What it does have is efficently and light weight. Its more efficient than an ampeg 810 (louder with the same power), and weights about a third.

The thing to remember is a vertical 215 stack has better dispersion than an 810. Side by side drivers act like one wide driver. So the 10's in an 810 have the disperison characteristics of a 19" speaker. So the 810 will start to beam some where around 800hz. The 15's are closer to 1050hz. Doesnt seem like a big gap, but it is very noticable.

Can you define dispersion? This seems counter intuitive, so I'm stuck. Also I need a definition of "beam" in this context.

A wider speaker disperses more poorly than a narrow one? That's where I'm hung up.
