Regarding phaser placement: i always put it after dirt, but couldn't decide whether i liked it before or after delay. I solved that problem by having two delays and two modulation pedals. So it goes dirt > delay > phaser > delay > flanger. Lots of interesting combinations in there.

Loads of combos in there. The only thing I run pre-dirt is the brown octaver. I'd like to try a flanger in there someday. Any recommendations on a bargain flanger? BF2?

Haha, that's a dangerous suggestion. I did have two delays on the board for a few practices, but I didn't really manage to do anything interesting with them.

I was at like an analog rage/jam band show in Richmond. When Papadosio played they had these two gorgeous Betties scantily clad in like Jane from Tarzan clothes, with leds and led hula hoops, up on stage their whole super long set. Sexy and trippy at the same time.

Right on, man. The cabs are bottom ported? I thought they were sealed like the originals when you mentioned clones. But that's a cool backline. I'm still trying to come up with a custom 6x12 design that will work out properly. Sealed and internally divided. But also maybe a 2x12 section being vented. Idk, actually. You must be running quite the speaker cable back there.

Hahaha I like this line of thinking! Granted we are at an advantage with Heavy Planet because we get frequent opportunities to melt their faces live.

You guys ever hear of Herder before? I'm going through all the mp3s on my phone of music I've downloaded but haven't necessarily listened to and I'm really loving this album right now:

Well, just confirmed that we have a show coming up at the newest DIY punk show space in town. The same group of kids have had 3 or 4 spots in the last 7-8 years. That'll be a fun one, we're playing with a local buddy-band of ours who are sort of retro-black-metal and a death metal band that I've never heard of before.

Should be a good time. Cover for these shows is usually 5 bucks and that gets you a cup, which you can fill up for free at the keg (sometimes 2) of Beast or Natty Ice.

I'm glad to break into that scene, the local crusties are all big fans of Pentagram and lots of sludge bands so I think they'll dig us. We're weird enough and just a little sludgy so we should fit right in. Plus we might actually get paid.

Can't speak for the BF-2 debate (although I'm pretty sure I've owned a couple over the years, but I just don't like modulation that much so I never keep them).

But I had a japanese DS-1 that absolutely sounded better than any other DS-1 I ever played. Probably should have kept it, but I sell anything that's not getting used...so off it went.

I have one of the newer, non-Japanese ones. I don't think it matters. All of the BF-2s are analog, the BF3 is digital (so I've heard) and has more issues with cutting low end. I've not used the super phaser, but there's quite a few phasers that have low-end issues.
