Well idk why he deleted it then just emailed me pics of it?

My gas is subsiding, I need other stuff more than that, even if it's tempting as hell.

Also goodwill did me well, and I grabbed up this little collection of cd's today.

Tripping Daisy, The Donnas, eagles of death metal, Von bondies, the breeders, mud honey, oasis, power puff girls, smashing pumpkins, tank girl sound track, garbage and sound garden!

When I went and saw chillerthanmost's band with Weedeater and Black Cobra last weekend, he was using one (borrowed from our drummer in Warp Rig) into the SVT stack and it sounded great. Though he was running it a little dark, I'd like to hear what it sounds like with a bit more high end on it. I'd definitely try one out, though personally I wish I could get something kind of in between that and a RAT. A little more of a raw edge to it in the upper mids and highs, but with that really beefy low end presence. Lately I'm going back and forth between my RAT and my Joyo Ultimate Overdrive with demo tracks, because of that.

Is that the two channel crossover distortion pedal? Looks pretty neat, yeah kind of expensive and I'm always hesitant with bass distortion pedals. I've been waiting for more builders to implement crossover designs with bass dirt, but the dirt itself is always a huge variable.

You may dig the Demon with the LED mod that Ryan does. It's less compressed and a bit brighter than the stock circuit. I can hear a pretty noticeable difference between them with my setup. Still beefy in the lows. I like both versions, but the stock circuit works best for me in bongripper.

I know Sam has both as well, but he's got them in the same signal chain, as opposed to the couple of times I hooked both of mine up together.

I don't hear a big difference between the two. the LED version is not as compressed and has more clean headroom but at higher distortion settings it sounds almost identical to the stock.

I'm struggling with my dual demon though. it just doesn't get along with the 215 cabs. The cabs and pedal both accentuate the 600-700Hz range. when one of the demons is on it creates a weird envelope filter-like effect and it only gets worse when both pedals are on. Doesn't happen with my 810 though. I'm experimenting with my para EQ to see if there is a good way to tame it. Not really sure what else to do other than get rid of the cabs or the pedal....

Yeah that was the part that through me too. I don't even test drive full active basses at the stores anymore, lol, I was joking with JMac that I am a cheap date pickup wise too, I have been thinking of putting together my next bass with pickups from an Epi Tbird or Les Paul, as I love the way those pickups sound but don't find the shapes comfy and don't care for the build quality of some of the models.

It's two channels with a crossover that's adjustable. So each channel affects the frequencies on either side of the crossover point. A buddy just got one so I'm gonna check it out for sure

I had the same problem with my Rat Tail through my 810e cab. It got this kind of weird mid filter effect, kind of almost like a cocked wah that just rubbed me wrong. I only ever tried it out with my Traynor and 810, it was gone before I had the MB800 or the Dually. It was so minor, but I was really nitpicking the hell out of it at the time, comparing it directly to my RAT. It definitely had more low end, but that little thing made me move it off the board.

I don't think I would go for the LED mod if I got a Demon. I don't need more headroom, I'd just keep turning up the gain until it sounded like normal, I just like that slightly more ragged edge to the RAT tone, but they never have enough low end. Hopefully the Volt Thrower will get me covered on that front. I have been considering picking up a Demon with the Gate/Boost mod though, just for fun. I really liked the way it sounded through Tony's rig at that show, I'd just dial in a little more high end into it personally, which isn't hard to do between the tone knob and amp settings. That's just a matter of taste.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it. I think I watched a demo video, briefly, but with something that tweakable it's going to be hard to convey how it really sounds (or all the ways it COULD sound) in a video that's not an hour long.
