Morning, come on coffee...
Happy Happy Joy Joy, thanks to JMac for the sweet neck hookup!
Neck for the jazz bass body with Thunderbird pups.

Thank you for that.

Had our most productive FM practice tonight, the singer was finally free, and adding vox brings the songs to a whole new level. So that's great.

Drummer yelled at me that I need to bring back my WUMBO pronto, I'm slacking on the WUMBOness as of late. So getting that and my rat fixed, nothings heavier than rat>muff, true fact.

the day I finally got my GGG muff kit to work was the same day I decided to try and tighten up the pots on my RatKing.

main reason I got the muff was for Rat->Muff but of course, just opening the 'king up and tightening some nuts caused her to shut down on me.

now I have to ship it back to Ry which apparently is pretty low on my priorities since im pretty satisfied with what im
getting from my recently acquired Demon.

and Demon into that muff is apparently too much for my rig to handle. probably because my Muff is super noisey from my crappy soldering work.

Fugg, I am not a happy camper. Arrived in Denver to find out the flight was overbooked, namely my seat. Botch. Now I'm stuck here 8 hrs waiting for the next flight. They wouldn't take my suggestion and put me in the cargo hold. At least the flight's free and I have a chunk of coin in my pocket and some food vouchers. I guess if I weren't so lazy I'd go find a dispensery in town, but I'll prolly just hit an airport bar and crash out on some floor somewhere. I feel bad for the mrs. who's driving from LA to SD and now has a day alone.

I like my Turbo Rat into Green Russian Muff.

you guys should try the Crowther Hot Cake. a guy in NZ makes them - i came across one easy but may be harder for you guys. I should post some clips - for mono operation it has all but replaced my DOD

I've been wanting to try one for a while. I never seem to find one for a good price when I'm in the market for a new pedal though. I know there are different versions too. I think the right version probably sounds pretty cool on a standard tuned bass, but might get a little blown out sounding with lower tunings or with some of the versions out there. I only know about it because it's the main pedal the bassists from Superchunk used for a long time. I do like the way it sounds on a lot of their old albums, but they're also pretty lo-fi sounding on those.

Sounds like the RK should be an easy fix - could be as easy as something shorting to the chassis. I'd just open it up and look for obvious stuff - plug it in, plug in a bass and amp and wiggle **** until it starts working again.

Just had a similar problem with the US Rat 2 - I put the LM308 in, tested it before putting it back in the chassis and it worked fine. Then I put it together and tightened everything up, tested again - serious cutting in and out leading to eventual silence. Opened it back up and a capacitor leg that hadn't been trimmed short enough was touching the chassis. **** was loose enough before I took it apart that it didn't matter, once I tightened everything up that extra mm made all the difference. Trimmed the cap leg and it started working again.

yea that's what I thought too. ive fixed other pedals before but it was obvious like a burnt diode. and ive successfully built and then troubleshot the GGG kit.

ive already put electrical tape on the cover above the jacks cuz its pretty close to the cover, checked for shorts. checked continuity all over the place but im still learning that stuff. the LED and Si clipping diodes are pretty close to the casing but there not touching, for good measure I bent them upwards a bit. The LED's light up when I put continuity meter across (pretty cool).

I get clear sound, no cutting in and out. but just no effect at all, just clean tone no matter what switch I click or knob I turn other than master volume.

been getting some awesome C-list scores lately.

picked up a box full of "broken" pedals for $50. best thing in there is a Black Russian Muff which according to my multimeter is just a bad switch.

DS-1 with a burnt diode that I replaced with one from another pedal and now that works.

little big muff with busted switch, EHX micro synth with god knows what wrong with it. few other dano pedals, couple broken tuner pedals and a Morley Wah/Vol/Distortion with bad jack, all in all good stuff for tinkering and probably making back some money

finally got the courage to put a couple basses up for sale, hope they move! way too many and I don't use any of them but one!!

Last night at like 12-1am some pounded on my door and tried to open it then beat on my window. No one had called me so I just later down motionless until it ended and seemed to move on to another place. Any idea what that was?

Do you have any neighbors that get so drunk, they might not be able to recognize their own house/apartment?
