Stoner/DOOM Bassists Part 83: WHAT YEAR IS IT?

If you look on YouTube you'll find tutorials for mixing super glue and baking soda together to fill in a nut slot. I did it once and I didn't really notice anything to complain about tone wise. I can't speak for the longevity though.

Thanks for the suggestion of covering the microphone of a zoom for recording practice. Definitely not studioquality, but light years better then before. Two thumbs up on that one.:bassist:

I've done this as well with great results!

Thanks I'll give it a try.

Thanks dudes.

On a different topic, is there an easy way to temporarily fix a nut that has been filed down too much? I was thinking of filling it with a bit of superglue....

If just temporary, probably a bit of business card cut to size you could keep layering to the height you want. I have used that under nuts and saddles on acoustic guitars for setting action when I sanded down just a little too much. If you can get the nut off easily you could put some strip(s)under the saddle and reuse the nut.

Yeah, -11 here this morning. I'll stop complaining because Sam and his crazy Canadian compadres have it a lot worse.

Band practice tonight, going to swap the tube on the LH1000 to see if that's causing my feedback issues. If not, I'm going to bypass the pedalboard and see if I still get gnarly banshee-screeching feedback. Troubleshooting is fun.

Going to record some overdubs for my drummer's other band tomorrow, will be using the Zoom R24 and a pile of Russian condenser mics. That should actually be fun (not being sarcastic, it's hard to tell with me sometimes).

Its a brisk 30 degrees F here, so technically it's still freezing here too...

Call me a nerd but my hopes were high when it said malsongs, it's be folkish songs based on firefly.

Yeah about the same here maybe 27 or so, the wind is cutting down to feel like 10 they say. Anything below freezing sucks in my book but that -40 stuff must be brutal to say the least.
