what did you guys grow up learning on bass (if you started around when i did, 13)? first song i ever learned was Bush "Everything Zen", went to Nirvana and Rage against the machine after that, then mostly stayed with rock/metal/funk. albums i used to play along with quite a bit:

Corey - the demo sounds killer, really digging the tones, playing, arrangements, etc. What were you using for dirt on those?
A lot of my olderr stuff is low bitrate well under 320. those are the ones I'm most concerned with. I'll either have to manually rip from cd again or download better versions.
1st song I ever learned was glycerine by Bush then Zombie by the Cranberries. A friend who played guitar couldn't find a bass player to jam with so he started teaching me how to play for fun. I was 17 I think.
When I started teaching myself I focused on a lot of Nirvana snd Cake
i knew a few songs of cakes big album, not sure if i remember any of them. distance and their cover of i will survive (i think) were the ones i knew.
Pretty much the same. I started on guitar so when I picked up the bass I learned most of the lines I was playing on guitar by ear were actually bass lines. I think the first bass line I played was sober by tool and then hey man nice shot by filter.
I pretty much knew every song on that album. I don't remember any of it other than I will Survive.

Janitor, I was using this pedalboard setup:
Pickle Pie B into the Dunwich Bass Preamp, with the EHX Nano Small Stone in the loop, into my Crest power amp, into my Ampeg 810e. The Dunwich Wizard Fuzz into my GK MB800, into the Faital loaded Dually.
On of my old garage bands used to jam out on that one pretty hard. It was a lot of fun with the walking progression and freedom to put in all kinds of elements. Sucks that project didn't get any further than where I parked my car.
I picked up bass when I was around 20. At the time I was really into post-hardcore and swedish melodic death metal, so I learned a lot of In Flames and At the Drive-In songs 
Question for you guys. The Moog Phaser has the opposite polarity than the typical pedal. Is there anyway I can still use the DC Brick to power it instead of having to use a separate wall wart?
I can play a Reel Big Fish song, that's about the only cover I know. Never been interested in learning others stuff. Which helps explain why 22 years of bass playing resulted in me being mediocre at best.
youve never been struck with the urge to just play along with another song? cant say i follow that one haha
