Stoner/DOOM Bassists thread part 37: Ancient Alien Fuzz

Anyone an amptweaker fan? This is supposed to be coming out soon. Looks cool.

My guitar player uses the TightMetal pedal. I haven't messed around with it much, but by all accounts they're damn good pedals. I think it sounds pretty good, but I'd need to mess around with it myself to really form a strong opinion one way or the other. I do want to try that bass fuzz, though.

I personally think dunwich's pedal designs are too small. I need a pedal big enough I can prop it up on my lap and eat a hungry man dinner on it. Table sized fuzz please.

one just needs ask for such a thing

if I built an ancient aliens fuzz pedal it would have the title in two lines in Impact font all caps

"I am not saying it was aliens that made this fuzz pedal"

"but it was aliens"

I'm not even sure what you could put into a fuzz that big... flux capacitor? Maybe design it from one of those old arcade table games so I can play pacman during cigarette breaks at practice. Tempting...

Alien fuzz… I'd say throw in an attack control ala a pog 2 and a usable auto wah or oscillation.

Send a prototype to Juan Alderete

When I read this, it made me think of the old paddle controllers from the atari days. Giant knobs please. And joysticks. Man I need to start designing.

I bet with a pedal that big... you'd start to have alice in wonderland syndrome.

reverse delay for abduction style stuff. there isnt any true pedal reverse delay since that would violate causality.

hahaha so if we can make a true reverse delay, that actually plays the delayed note before you hit the string.... will we have created the first true time machine?:eek::hyper:

Alien fuzz deffinitiately needs an awkward shaped inclosure.

I was thinking of something like the enclosure landmine pedals uses or arbiter used, but in polished aluminum.

Circular enclosure called the Starship/UFO with built in Fuzz, Delay, Oscillation, whatever else you cant fit in there. That would be cool.

And, it has to shoot some kind of laser. Even if its just a lame laser pointer.

Hmmmmmm maybe it should be a theremin, an octave fuzz, phaser, and shimmer verb all in one pedal. That would be totally 70's retro spacey. And then instead of an LED for on, we could use a laser pointer (or 4). It should also have a small built in fog machine as well. :bassist:
