Well, missed about the last 8 pages of the old thread, thankfully I could handle catching up on these 3.

Since we're kind of discussing space: the NASA article about 3 day blackout due to planetary alignment was crazy: thanks Laz

Also, I've been becoming more familiar with Warp & Hold functions on the DD6. Pretty fun stuff. So, while I was demo-ing some riffs (that have probably been posted before) for the guys I'm supposed to jam with this weekend I took full advantage of these settings. I also played with looping Theremin, and playing over it as a kind of earthless-esque spacy into sound...

I like everything but the faceplate, I dunno what it is but the newer matamp faceplates do nothing for me. They seem bland and boring, maybe its so that the custom logo can pop out? But it just doesnt excite me as much as this does:

I have a buddy who's a car salesman. One time he explained to me how he buys cars. He said he did all the research on what people want, what all the prices are, conditions etc and memorized it... then he gets wasted and buys stuff. He told me he always makes money off those deals. Go with your minds eye sir.

The Ancient Alien Fuzz enclosure clearly needs to be some sort of pyramid or obelisk. Only the keepers of ancient arcane knowledge will know how to activate it's power, fools will simply impale their foot trying to stomp on it.

What will it sound like? Bone shattering mechanical groans, maddening sub-harmonic frequencies, disorienting modulations of space and time that cause electrical conduits to explode, bridges to crumble and impossible weather patterns to engulf the cities of man. Until someone thinks to stick it under water, then they'll realize it's just whale songs.

It should have Stairway to Heaven recorded backwards and imprinted to solid state memory, and when the pedal is engaged, the Stairway playback is autotuned to your notes.... I guess that would be more appropriate for the "Subliminal Satan" reverb pedal (patent pending)

i have actually for a while thought a 4 band Fuzz + volume would be a good pedal. So you split the sound up into like 4 band, low, 2 mid ranges, and high end using op amp 2nd order HPFs, and LPFs and some bandpass filters for the mid, each frequency would get its own muff style or FF style clipping stages, (kind of thinking muff for now) then everything would be mixed together using op amps and summed into 1 signal. It could be sick for bass where you could precisely do fuzz at different frequencies to retain low end.

I'll echo what Sam said about Clutch: Elephant Riders, Jam Room, Blast Tyrant and s/t. Though these days I'm burned out on them. Listened to them for a long time and saw them live many, many times. The last time just left me kind of cold, then Motorhead came on and destroyed the place.

There are a couple fuzzes like that out there. I always read good things about them, but don't see them in wide use. Usually there's some whacky noise making idea thrown in as well, seems like it's almost never a straight multi-band fuzz.
