hahaha well its a solid piece. harmonic vibrato on clean parts can be downright depressing sounding

Yeah, my muff pedal at minimum tone/sustain sounds like crap at low volume or through a clean rig... at high volume and a high gain rig, its the holy grail. Thanks to Laz and Eyeballkid for that revelation... "mud butt settings" as they call it.
So theres a new MXR Bass Chorus coming out, it has a crossover in it so only your high notes are effects (by chorus OR flanger) and your lows run clean. What a good f***ing idea.

A buddy of mine uses 1 18", a sansamp pedal and an old peavey power amp. Sounds ****ing killer. Great band, too. Subatomic. **** it, he won't mind if I post a link.

Well he's a professional graphic designer by day for a university. Between work, the band, and his kids, he doesn't have a whole lot of time to work on other stuff

Actually it was BAD (Barry Audio Design) who did my Dually. ampegfuzz is the guy with the BNA Bassic.
Robby Hoinsky at Art of Noise was the guy who Laz'd me the hardest. At least with the other guys I had a somewhat functioning end product.

The guy who recorded my old band swore by his mesa 18". That sounds like a great idea for a setup. I feel like I'm slowly turning into a sansamp spokes person but I haven't owned one in years. I'm finally just realizing the usefullness of these little guys.
Geez. I'd book that venue just to roll around on stage naked in a kiddie pool full of mayonnaise and call it "performance art". Still profit more in a night than my metal band did in a year, if what you say is true.
I used one for a few shows on a borrowed rig about 10 years ago. Sansamp>GK700RB>Sunn 2x15. The first "real" bass rig I played through, it was an eye-opener for sure. I've been contemplating getting one for years now. I keep telling myself that I don't need it but now that I have a pre/power rig it would be a good backup if my preamp decides to bite the dust.

It's a Mexican bar and the owner loves punk rock. It's not much but free food and $100 for a night of jamming with friends. It's awesome.

Yeah, that one got me the worst. Had such high hopes and it was the biggest POS ever haha. Oh well, worked out in the end.

Nice. I feel like Still Valley needs to get one or two tracks done up on the pro level to make any real waves. Sure we got these scratch recordings, but those are kinda embarassing to try to get shows with. lol. Maybe just keep chipping away at the local guys. Laz, do you think Supervoid would be blowing up as much if you guys didn't have those tracks? Maybe I need to put all the gear budget into a recording budget...
My drummer is probably the most connected out of the band and there is a variety paper based in Denver that has been talking with him about our new band. Hoping that the guy comes to the show and does a review for us. I wish we were closer to somewhere that mattered...
Ohhhh okay, yeah that place was weird. Nothing like a massively bleeding dude coming up to you at 1am in a dark alley trying to bum a cig after hauling your gear down a couple flights of spiral stairs.
Well, when I reached out to a lot of the blogs, it was along the lines of "here is my band, we just released our debut demo EP and would love for you to check it out" which is a lot more professional than here's some tracks we recorded with a zoom. That doesn't mean you can't get good sounding cheap recordings. But when you "release" tracks, it is a bit more newsworthy and says "hey look at this".
Man that sounds perfect. We need that here.
We have a few places close to that but it's more old man blues/rock stuff. Which is cool and all, but....
