Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

WW3 started with an accident between a citizen The state of Texas and the country of Canada online on the date of 11/28/13. As personal shifts and loyalties were broken from state to state and country to country the world began a rapid descent into total chaos and war.
I've watched both. I like the British one a little more but I think the us one is really good too. Like the us werewolf stuff ALOT. The Brit werewolf's voice and screams really annoys me.
And his nurse gf looks like a blonde pug dog, but other that that he's not a bad guy.
Not Being Human(contemporary fantasy), Almost Human(science fiction crime).
I couldn't get into either of the Being Humans though; felt simplistic.
Ohhhhhh. Yeah its simple. Its a whatch while distracted kinda show. The other one, haven't seen it.
It's currently playing, they have it on Hulu which is where I saw it.
It's alright, good acting and production.
For some reason my daughter will ignore a TV show right up until someone gets maimed or dies graphically.
Damn kids, making decent TV out of reach.

I haven't watched almost human. Although I do like Karl urban in most things I've seen him in. I thought he was pretty great as Bones in the new Star Trek movies, especially since he's usually playing a bad ass, it was good to see him as a comedic player. Although i still feel he's under utilized considering how big of a role his charter played in the original Star Trek series.
I watched the UK being human. I enjoyed it for the first 3 seasons, then they changed the whole cast and I stopped paying attention. It's cheesy and fun, but I enjoy cheesy fun sci fi shows.

Karl Urban is awesome. He was great in Dredd. He made a good Bones. Not sure about the new Kirk. Really the rest of the cast of the new Star Trek was great.
I've been watching all the episodes and so far, I like it. Not instantly obsessed with it, but I love sci-fi television and there hasn't been anything that mixes crime and lifelike androids in a while. Karl Urban is really good in it, he's got a lot of the swagger needed for hardboiled but still sarcastically funny that Harrison Ford used to.
I'm down with his swagger, never made that Harrison Ford connection though. I'll have to watch for it.
Here's the songs I wrote today, since my recording session was a wash. I wasn't specifically shooting for doom or stoner stuff, just heavy. I just started playing guitar and went with it until I had a full song. I'm planning on writing some lyrics for it and recording vocals too. I might go back and fine tune it a bit, I worked on basslines for about a half hour, then just threw them out and playing a simple part so I would finish it before my wife got home. Used the Dunwich Cthulhu and Wizard fuzzes on guitar, Ultimate Drive on bass.

Went to Bass Northwest today and jammed on a 71 Ric. Maple glo, walnut headstock wings, checkered binding, toaster pickup, incredible neck. Rather expensive, but awesome

What did you think of the store as a whole?
When I stopped it recently I was thrilled to see a bass dedicated store but let down they fell into the same music store idiocy.
