Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

See mbelue, you got Hondo, back off my Gibby, or I'll send my holographic blastoise after you...

I think only Max, me and Joe's GF's tot know what I'm talking about there...

Totes man. Do you remember the movie cards? I have a full collection of those too. Even the super rare ones. Its in a binder somewhere.

Haha, a buddy of Mine sent Me this link earlier. I'd love to have it, just for the cool factor alone, must less the history behind it. All said, priced a bit beyond My budget, lol.

Built a cigar box porch stomp for my cousin, he's in the air force and started a singer-songwriter thing, so I'm setting him up with This, fixed his guitar, took a video and made a recording for him, next is a bandcamp.

While it isn't the sexiest piece of gear (in fact it isn't gear exactly but software), I just downloaded the full version of EZDrummer.

My guitarist and I haven't been able to find a drummer since our last one left so we said screw it, let's just record some stuff and find a drummer later.

This program is damn cool. Easy to use and way better sounding than any other drum machine I have ever heard.

This is how we started about a year ago. We picked up a drummer in December and hope to record in a few weeks. Just write and rewrite great songs so a dimmer can jump right in when you find one.

Exactly, plus I have a theory that it might be a bit easier to write and learn songs. You would probably be able to confirm or deny this but I was thinking that it will just be easier to learn with one less person and better timing.

Can we go back and talk about how fuucking good this is?

Seriously, how good was that trio? If I could find a guitar player on this campus who played anywhere near that I'd be a happy man. I also can never really get all the comments I hear about him being a knock-off Hendrix, which I've heard from numerous musician friends. I mean, I guess he used a wah and univibe/vibratone, and his tone has similarities, but I could never confuse his playing with Jimi's, just the phrasing and songs are totally different. W/e, I'll always enjoy him. And if you'll allow me to drop Trow for a minute...

And probably my favorite track. It's so burly. Tell me that's not a song to F**k sh*t up to

I listened to this and it was not even close to Jimi. I'm interested now though. Thanks!

Closer to Clapton Cream era than Jimi. I like Cream. Vocals are better than Bruce, but Bruce's playing is better. At least on this track. Going to listen to more tomorrow.
