I love golf, but won’t dog anyone for their like or dislike of the game. And a game it is. I refuse to call an activity that you can smoke and drink while doing a “sport”.
This thread is massive... would be crazy to try read it all.
I LOVE my Pharaoh Supreme. Best fuzz I've ever played.
I recently bought a Swollen Pickle clone for dirt cheap since I love my Pickle so much. I'll say this - I think something's wrong/different with it, but I love it. I instantly got a different tone from it, but it's amazing. I've spent hours trying to get that same tone from my original SP, but haven't quite gotten there yet. Either way, I may just need both... And my Pharaoh Supreme...
I hear nothing but good things about the Bluebeard, but given their seeming rarity and price, I doubt I'll ever be able to justify one.I got a MKIIs Swollen Pickle recently. It's a tough one to figure out initially, but I've come to really like it. It's certainly one of the most versatile Big Muffs out there. It can be set for massive low end, so it's a good choice for doom fuzz.
Bluebeard is still the fuzz champ for me, but I have high hopes for the Pickle if I can really dial it in.
I'm sure it's not the exact quote, but I'm of the same mind as Mark Twain when it comes to golf - "Golf is a good walk spoiled."I love golf, but won’t dog anyone for their like or dislike of the game. And a game it is. I refuse to call an activity that you can smoke and drink while doing a “sport”.
The MKIII version of the Evil Eye has a gain and tone knob.I love fuzz pedals! Just got the Minotaur Swamp Lord, and Evil Eye. The Evil Eye is just one volume knob.
I've been here since near the beginning, off and on. For a good while it was a really well-populated, really rocking thread. Then, there was a dust-up with the mods and a bunch of people left.Yes but if one did they'd probably leave with a wealth of knowledge regarding pedals. This thread has some of the most helpful pedalheads on the internet IMO.
That's just this one too, I've never even looked at the 89 other parts that are apparently out there.
Anyone been here since stoner/doom part 1?
He never golfed with me. I am all about having a good time while playing. a lot of times I don't even keep score, just hit balls and hang with my friends.I'm sure it's not the exact quote, but I'm of the same mind as Mark Twain when it comes to golf - "Golf is a good walk spoiled."
What kind?"There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games."
-Probably not Ernest Hemingway, but maybe.
I don't really think that "games" are something lesser than "sports", but there's a qualitative difference. Those three activities aren't games, it's really kind of easy to end up dead doing any of them. And yeah, the one that distracts myself from music is motor racing. The number of games that can distract me is almost limitless.![]()
Since I started my current project (and bought a new bass) I haven't played the bass standing up, only during down. I also might not be cool, but I just don't know.Confession: I have my bass up high while playing. None of the cool stoner kids on line have theirs up high like I do, they are all knee-banging. I'm not cool!! (Sobs into pillow.)
You live in Amsterdam, how could you NOT be cool?Since I started my current project (and bought a new bass) I haven't played the bass standing up, only during down. I also might not be cool, but I just don't know.
What kind?

Please post sound samples of this! Also, those fret markers are great, including the fact that they are different colours.I'm planning on buying this monster. It ties into stoner/doom

Is SX a Texas company? Because I see those all the time on Craigslist but pretty much never anywhere elseReally, any kind I can afford. Mostly autocrossing (I'm totally average) and drag racing (actually pretty good at that one). I'm planning on trying out karts or time trials soon.
I spent Monday crawling around under a friend's car putting a shifter in it. After we were done, he gave me a bass he thought was broken and didn't want anymore. It wouldn't stay in tune for him. I got it home, and can't seem to get it to act up. It stays in tune for me, and sounds pretty dang nice. It's an older SX Junior Ursa, with a SD quarter pounder in it. Really inexpensive bass new, but it actually sounds great and plays pretty well, even though it's action is pretty high at the moment. I may leave the action high. The string tension's low and I can beat the strings to death with it that way.

In non-bass related news. I'm planning on buying this monster. It ties into stoner/doom, because I plan to play that kind of music on it, instead of only country and swing. It has a built in Jordan Boss Tone fuzz.
