Stoner Metal/ Stoner rock

Depends on the gig some are better than others. They even show a bad gig with only 1 person there besides the camera man, which I thought was humbling. They show them trying out for their record label which I thought was really cool too.

They also show practices and you can hear early versions of some songs that change quite a bit.

My band just got a sweet gig.

Its a Robotic Empire exposition of sorts with Torche, ****storm, and Capsule. Im sure there'll be a sick crowd there.

Nice gig Nick! Torche is a band I keep meaning to support and buy a cd from. I was hoping to hear about them coming to Iowa in November but it seems the date with Coliseum and Kylesa was cancelled.

Im going to go see them off on their tour in Gainesville, FL on the 21 and in Savanah, GA on the 22. Their drummer and bass player asked me to stand in for him on this tour since he couldnt because of financial reasons but their guitarist pushed for a buddy of his so Im not going. They'll be touring again in December so mayeb you can catch them then. If Im lucky, they'll be looking for a new guy to stand in that time around.

Last night's gig was friken killer.

In addition to the lineup on the flyer we also had a new band play called Meruda with Mitchell Luna from the grind band Tyrany of Shaw on vocals.

Sh!tstorm is a killer band if you dig the thrash grind thing. Lots of energy. The drummer and guitarist are the drummer and bassist from Torche, the singer is the drummer's brother. Loud!, Fast!, and brutal!. Link Removed

Capsule really impressed me. They just came from a gig over two hours away that they player earlier in the day and rocked solid. Lots of tension buildups and some cool progressions. They have Eric, the bassist from Tyrany of Shaw on drums. Link Removed

Torche showed off some new songs they just recorded last night and they're even more brutal than the old ones. The dude who is standing in on bass for this tour played with them last night too and did a great job considering he'd only practiced with them once or twice before. They have a small review in this months Bass Player mag, and you can find them in Revolver, and Spin in the past two months too. If you havent checked them out yet, do it now. Link Removed

EDIT: You know what to type to get to the Sh!itstorm site.

EDIT #2: I heard that Electric Wizard wants to do a US tour soon.

I saw you mention Electric Wizard on tour on myspace, I have to go see them.

Sweet about your gig, I'm glad that worked out. Damn shame you're not in Torche.
I wouldnt have been in Torche really, just a sub for a couple of tours. Hopefully this tour goes horribly and they ask me to play with them on their next tour.... Just kidding... I think.

Everyone should see these guys if they pass anywhere near you. The old stuff is brutal when its brutal and pretty when its pretty, the new stuff is BRUTAL when its BRUTAL and PRETTY when its PRETTY. Just so much more than before. Oh, and bring earplugs unless you want to be deaf for a few days following like I am.
