Stoner Metal/ Stoner rock

Bump. Been listening to alot of old Pentagram, the Hidden Hand and Orange Goblin lately.

I need some new tunes...any good recs?

Hmm, in the vein of Pentagram, there was a band called "Lucifer Was" in the 70s. They are kinda like Black Sabbath meets Jethro Tull.

Have you listened to much Saint Vitus or the Obsessed? Wino's original bands. "Born too Late" and "V" are awesome Saint Vitus albums, the only Obsessed album I love is "The Church Within" but it's wicked!

Pearls & Brass: Very Clutch esque... don't know how easy it is to find their stuff.

Monster Magnet: Specifically the "25...tab" album. I heard it was the stuff that was too drawn out/trippy for the first album. Which was drawn out/trippy on it's own, so you know thats good!

Acrimony: I'm pretty sure they are Welsh... I forget though. Doom metalish, really big on Sleep.

Witchfinder General: If you like Pentagram, you'll like these guys, very similar... great lyrics too, "Look out for me... lets trip on LSD." :hmm: Deep :smug: at least you know they are stoner rock.

First of all this band's website is awesome. Their music is equally great...I'll definitely be getting into these guys. Good one, thanks!

Lucifer Was sounds pretty great.

I have "Incarnate" by the Obsessed, which is pretty rad. I have one track fom "The Church Within" Blind Lightning, which is good...I'll have to pick up the whole record. I'm ashamed to say I never got into St. Vitus...sounds like it's about time.

Witchfinder General RULES! Haven't listened to them in a while though.

I'll check out the other bands too, thanks Matt!

I love the Hidden Hand! my Favorite Wino band!

Have you heard Place of Skulls?

Also check out Karma to Burn, Liquid Visions, Poseidotica, and Negative Reaction.

All of those bands can be found on Stonerrock.com

The plight of the Weedian People to get to the Riff-filled Land, that's pure class right there. :D

Listening to the Melvins right now. Also been spinning a lot of Wino lately, Spirit Caravan in particular. Orange Goblin, more Colour Haze, and Kyuss of course.

I've been on a massive stoner kick for almost 2 years now, the only thing that really shakes me from it is Pearl Jam, Neurosis, and Meshuggah.
