I think a cool modern "doom metal" group (stoner rock as I like to call it because I can't think of stoners without thinking of Phish - I guess that's the fact that I'm Gen Y and I don't remember the early 80s let alone the 1970s)
Would be the Bassist from Death From Above - slowed down to Matt Cameron's Beats (screw that disco S***). Nice and heavy.

I've been listening to Thin Lizzy all day.........One of the bands that gave birth to Stoner rock. Friggin Amazing. Songs like Opium Trail have that shimmery feel , almost mystical. And others rock so friggin hard!

They are Rediculoulsy heavy. Like molasses en fuego on a frozen rail.

I tend to prefer a tighter, more muscular bass distortion - one that still keeps up with the attack.

Ufomammut is great as it sounds like a Wooly Mammoth trudging through Tar as it fights against death.

So it turns out that a Torche is going to play a show with my other friends band, Consular, at their guitarists house and rumor has it that they are going to be playing nothing but Floor songs...

Ok, I need some Stoner Rock imagery, you know, wizards, druids, cosmic travel, muscle cars etc. etc.

anyone know of a good site, I need something simple that I could cut out and use as a shilouette. I have been able to find some great stuff but too complex for my needs. Essentially I am lookning for something I can cut out of sheet metal and put onto the front grill of my amp. I have a few ideas but I am hitting a bit of a wall.

what ideas come to mind?

HOF is one of my favorite bands to see live, period.

That tour played here last night, I'm kinda bummed i missed it...but i was in Vermont snowboarding. Oh well, at least i had a good excuse.
