Stoner Metal/ Stoner rock

Oh man!! The Sword is sick!! You guys were right. I just got Age of Winters.:bassist:

I also picked up Early Man "Closing In" which totally rules. More classic metal sounding than The Sword...but I think some of you guys might really like it.

People actually compare King Bowman to Early man quite a bit, mostly because of the high vocals and we have some thrashy parts and are at times rather Judas Priest influenced.

I have a thread about Emissions in the Misc section... I almost got to play Emissions.

Matt, I just listened to your band...sounds great man!:bassist:

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I think The Sword "Age of Winters" is one of the best stoner rock albums I've ever heard. They have all the elements; the fuzzed out grooves, the doom, mystical lyrics, etc... and there's not a dull moment on that album. Anyone here who hasn't heard this yet go get it immediately. If you like Sleep, HOF, Dozer, etc...You'll love this.

That tour is coming to CBGB's this Sunday, I'm thinkning about going.

ummm wouldn't the greatest stoner metal band be black sabbath?
Are you suggesting we listen to nothing but Sabbath? Granted, everyone should listen to them, but there are plenty other amazing ones out there.

Picked up Brant Bjork and the Operators recently, really cool stuff! Also been spinning The Hidden Hand and Colour Haze a ton lately.

Possibly all been said...

Kyuss
QOTSA
Uneeda
Brant Bjork (awsom band! There playing this eve' but i'm off sick and kant go... DAMN IT!)

Mark Lenagan Band
Black Sabbath (has first aspects of Stoner Rock i think)

Some people consider "Monster Magnet" as stoner rock too allthough I don't

Masters Of Reality

Melissa Auf Der Maur (Josh Homme in there somewhere)

Oh yeah, and check out the "Dessert Sessions" (with Josh Homme and the rest of that complicated formation)
