Stop it! Stop It!! STOP IT!!!

......

I don't know if I should even try, but garble is garble, whether you can read it or not...

I never understood why it was called "leet speak." As though substituting letters was some form of elite communication, when I'm far more impressed by proper grammar and punctuation anyways.

;)

And in parts of the south Coke is the generic name for any soda. Just outside of Atlanta:

Me: "I'll have the pancakes & eggs combo."
Waitress: "What kind of Coke would you like with that?"

And witnessed at a local gas station while in FL:

"Grab me a Coke while you're in there."
"What's your flavor?"

Yeah, I lived my "formative" years in southern Louisiana (Morgan City and the surrounding area). I didn't notice the coke thing until I moved up here, went through a drive-thu, and asked for a coke. They never asked what I wanted, and I got a damn Coke. Took a few minutes for me to realize what had happened. :D

Well, I guess we'll just have to start a new language. We'll just call it Ivorics or hickics or something. "Anyways" will be included in that language. Along with cool phrases like "It don't make no nevermind." I just might throw in some local contractions, like "you'uns". And, from now on, Coke will be the generic term for soda pop.

I'd like a coke, please.

What kind?

Pepsi.

Youse got that right.
