...from buying a Schroeder Mini12 Light 3-space Airhead.

At 22 pounds, it'll still weigh in at about 40-50 pounds depending on what poweramp I settle on. That also gives me room for my power conditioner.

Now, the 12+ is about $150 dollars more. I'm going to run this cab with a poweramp and PODxt Live. I find myself leaving the tweeter oin my Avatar 2x12" pretty much off, so I don't think this one would get any use.

The 12+ also says it is bottom ported or sealed. Is this true for the regular 12? If so, which would I want? I'm going to use this cab solo, and I'll be utilizing a B/C#/D string, depending on the bass and band.

I'll be ordering it as an 8-ohm, that way I can add more cabs later, if I can ever afford them. This setup will be used for electric only, live, practice and recording. I'm e-mailing Schroeder as we speak to inquire about the port as well as airhead.

Also, I'll be installing casters and a pull-out handle on the back if I do get it.

SERiously ask yourself if you'd get tired of carrying 50 Lbs in one trip everywhere. Your back may be good now, but moving stuff gets old. consider Mini+ without airhead or put casters on the airhead?

Just a tip from a player with a bad back and I'M NOT EVEN 40!!! 22Lbs would be sweet for a cab, 20-30 for a rack.

I think its a great idea. I'd go ported if you you're doing electric only. The sealed is generally to dampen feedback on a DB.

I too am in the "small light loads and more trips" stage of life but I don't think the 50 lbs is that exessive for what could be a great little combo.

As I mentioned, I'll be installing casters and a pull out handle so I can wheel it around. I've been on the smaller/lighter amp stint since I found out I had a hernia, which I had repaired last week. Maybe I will keep 'em seperate,

+1, don't get the airhead if you're going to stuff 30 lbs of amp in it... it defeats the purpose of the very light cab... keep it modular with power amp and preamp in a seperate rack case. Just my 2cents.
