I have a Sunn 1200 head and Gallien Kruger 410 cabinet and when I first plug in sometimes there's a Pop! that sounds like a bomb going off. I'm actually surprised it hasn't imploded into an Event Horizon! I'm used to tube amps and I have grown to really love this amp, is the ohm setting wrong? I don't really expect an answer but the Sunn head is compatible with any cabinet, what is the problem?

SS amps will typically emit a "pop" on startup and sometime on shut down too. It's one of the reasons for the delay in connecting speakers that most amps have.

It's only an annoyance, nothing more, there's not enough energy to break anything. Providing the amp and the cab has been chosen with sense, of course.
Starting old(ish) large PA rigs can make unsuspecting onlookers poop their pants if desired so. Always fun

is it an active bass? they make a big pop because of the switch in the output jack that turns on the 9v preamp. if it happens with the volume down, its something in the amp.
