Strange sound.

Just got a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass a week ago. Its my first bass so i'm new at basses world.

I got a question. When i slap the E string, it gives a strange sound sometimes, like something falling down.

I dont know if it is because I slap it too strong or if it is the amp (laney rb3) or the tone I use (I dont know much about tones) , or strings (i got the ones wich came with bass) Should I change ? Or some problem with the bridge. What's your opinion?

Sounds like the E string is hitting the pickup poles, but I may be miles out with that diagnosis.

Loose truss-rod, perhaps?

That's what happened to me before, but I'd say we need a sound clip to be sure...

I dont think it is the string hitting the pick up.
Its a different sound. Its just sometimes not always.
I am starting to think that it is because I hit the E string too strong sometimes, but it doesnt hit the pick up.
Anyway do you guys think i should change strings ?
