Strap locks: what kind, if at all?

What kind of strap locks do you use, if at all?

I tried a few but but ended up sticking with Duncan Dual Design.

I tried the washers and found them to be very cheap and very effective. But I also found that they can snugly grip the strap button and, over time, start loosening the strap pin just with normal movement (I don't jump around when I'm playing). Once I found that, I immediatley took them off of the basses that I was using them on.

Back in November,I bought a new/used NS/Stick.
I have a set of unused Schaller S-Locks.

I can't use two because the upper strap goes to a hook.
So I put one on.

I use the Loxx system, is it better than the others? No, the reason I went with Loxx is that it is low profile and the other bulky systems are uncomfortable when a strap button is placed on the heel of the neck.

Thanks for this photo.
The thing that has kept me from Dunlop and Schaller is the issue with the strap projecting so far past the body of the guitar. Loxx looks like a good solution

Never heard of Loxx. Just watched the videos. They look cool. How to they hold up over time? I really like the new Schaller S locks, but might want to try these?
Schaller locks have a long pin. Does the length of the pin ever cause premature wear in your case or gigbag? Is there a hack you use when putting your bass that has Schallers so it doesn't damage the case? I know you wouldn't do this, but if somebody else tries to prop your instrument up against a wall or against your amp, can it get damaged because the length of the pin, OR would the end of the pin slide on a hard tile floor and fall?

I've had a long pin strap lock and when I propped the bass against a wall the strap lock broke the screw head. There was no other way to fix this but to drill out the rest of the screw and put a wooden plug into the hole for the new screw. No long pin straps after that for me.

Just unearthed a Schaller set — one I'd long forgotten about. They must be ancient. So, now I'm having an approach-approach conflict: which strap, which instrument? Nice pickle to be in :) There are a number of both that would benefit. I can't make up my mind.

I still have one of these,

Vera narce, still brand new and with no Schallers yet installed. The other already sports the locks — holding up like a champ. By reversing one end, I'll easily resolve a nasty twisting ordeal so I may just give that a go and bung the pins into the old Johnny Smith.

No hurry 'cause I ain't playin' out these days. Still, I'd hate to see old Johnny take a dive. Always strap myself in regardless, whenever possible, as a kind of guarantee :)

I was a tyre dealer before retirement, and used the cut off end of a tubeless tyre valve.
This is the bulbous bit inside your tyre that you cannot see.
They are a bloody tight stretch over a standard strap button.
Never had one fail, and never remove the straps.

Brilliant and really looks finished like it came from the factory that way!
How did you cut the back of the valve so cleanly?
