String Advice (newbie)

My advice is to try as many different strings you can; they are more likely to change your tone than anything you do, and there are no right answers. The annoying thing is the cost of strings is not a lot, but adds up. And once you have a tone you like, your choices may be worse.

It is nicer on guitar where I change bass strings every 2 to 4 weeks and treble strings every 4 to 8 weeks. So I get something like 15 or 20 opportunities to try new strings a year whereas bass strings have the potential to last much longer.
