Just purchased a 2010 American Deluxe Precision. I normally play a 5 string Ken Smith.
I've been reading about players using the BEAD tuning, and in theory, this would probably work well for me as I spend most of my time in the mid to low range of the instrument.
Seems like people advise finding a set of strings with the tension close to the normal EADG strings.
Are there any precision players out there who have done this and can recommend a brand/model of strings that work well?
I realize that I might need to open the slot on the nut to fit the larger diameter string, so I'd prefer not to experiment too much.
