String recommendations

So I just got some Dunlop super bright nickle strings on my two basses and I liked them quite a bit but they died after like 2 weeks. While it may have just been shoddy packaging, I'd like to try something different. I've a musicman big al and a an HH sterling. I'm looking for something that's aggressive and bright without being one dimensional sounding. I was looking at either the dr fat-beams or the bootzilla strings. Just wanted to see if anybody had any info on these or any others that might sound good.

D'Addario Prosteels would sound really good on either one. They just seem to be made for those type of pups.

Dunlop had some QC issues a year or so ago which resulted in the distribution of some sub-par super bright sets (dead, won't intonate properly, etc.). This may or may not have some bearing on your experiences. I have some new sets (both nicks & SS) which are stellar...highly recommended!

A big thumbs-up for the GHS Progressives. Jon Moody of GHS is a regular contributor here on TB. The Prog's were chosen as the the platform for their custom shop 33" scale prototype which says a lot in my book.

That was also partly because I was having a bass built (a Hilton 32" scale 5 string), and wanted Progressives on it....

I use lo riders on my ebmm SR 5HH and they sound absolutely amazing, been thinking of trying the DDTs on it tho to compare

or a set of SIT strings, which I rarely see mentioned on this site

I love Lo-Riders but if you find they are missing a 'I don't know what?' quality, move on up to the Fat Beams. A refined aggressive string - great lows and zingyness which lasts and lasts.

Fat beams are definitely on the list just in case the lo riders don't do what I want. I could see them working with single coils really well
