Quick easy question. Does anybody know the exact string spacing on a SR5? I need precise info so please no " I think it's...." responses

String spacing on SR5

Fingerboard width at the nut on the SR5 is 1.75" ... I remember that because it's the same as a vintage 4-string P-bass.
That doesn't tell you the string spacing, but the convention is that overall fingerboard width is used at the nut end, while actual string spacing is used at the bridge end.

I wouldn't call it perfect... At least not for me. When I had one I much preferred the string spacing on my Lakland.
It's not a bad adjustment to go from 19mm to 17mm, but it is noticeable.
+1... I played an otherwise-excellent (IMO) SR5 for a few years until several years ago, then realized that I strongly preferred the wider string spacing of Laklands, Sads, etc.
No such thing as 'perfect' string spacing.
If it was perfect for me, I'd own one. As it happens, I can't stand the narrow spacing. So, I don't own one.
My SR5 has been my main bass for.... God, 15 years already. So for me, that spacing is the "standard". Before that I had an Ibanez Roadstar II 5 with ridiculously-narrow spacing so the MM felt a lot more comfortable when I traded up. Since then I got a Modulus Q6 and it feels a little narrow to me (17mm) but I can deal.
I just picked up a Warwick Streamer Stage I 5'er which is wider and now I'm finding that takes a little getting used to as well, but in the good way.
As always, you have to find what fits you best! But since I have several different spacings I'm willing to adjust and that usually doesn't take too long. Just don't switch basses every song!

NO. I just measured mine. twice. it's 18mm. It's the exact same as a Ken Smith.
Huma - Take it to the Bank, it's 18mm.
