D'addario long-scale strings worked fine strung through the body of an American Elite Jazz 5-string I used to have. That was over 3 years ago, so whatever length they were then and whatever they are now will work fine.

String Thru - D'Addario XL

The long scale XLs were fine for string thru - I had forgot how good they sound on a Jazz.
