Double Bass Strings for bluegrass?

Thank you for the recommendation. I took the bass to Randy and not only did he bring my bass to life, but I also learned a ton about these instruments. Can't say enough good things about Randy. Already planning a return trip to get a bridge upgrade at some point.

I am late to the party but was wondering if he saw anything wrong with the E string nut slot. It looks like the string takes a squirrely path there. If he didn't say anything then he's right and I'm wrong, mind you. Hope you get some great playing out of the bass! Enjoy it!

He said the nut was ok. He said the bridge is too narrow and it also doesn't quite sit flush with the top of the bass. I plan to have him make a bridge soon.
