Strings for Madagascar

D'oh. I've been saving up a big box for the past year, no reason to ditch them yet. Guess I'll keep an eye out for something similar and/or a new address to send to.

i just saw this thread.... I never came in the strings sections!

I sent an E-mail when (if) I hear back I will post the answer here.

Here is the E-mail:

J'aimerais savoir si vous ramasser toujours les cordes usagées de guitares et basses pour les gens défavorisés?
Je fais partie d'une comunauté de plus 80 000 bassistes et on est prêt à aider.
Merci

There's this guy collecting used bass strings and distributing them to local bass players who can't afford them at all.
Basses strung with bike brake cables are not uncommon, nor are unfortunate 2 string bass players.
Madagascar is one of the 5 poorest countries in the world and still maintain a very active musical tradition.
Guitar strings are welcome too.

Please save your old strings and send them to

Thanks for them.

Does this apply for guitar strings as well?

A friend runs a commercial studio and they change strings most often before EVERY session, buy ********* of them direct from the factory, and then make sure they always have fresh strings (easier like that if a string breaks during a session).

I am sure he'd be happy to send bunches to madagaskar.
