Merchant service fees from whoever handles your credit card transactions are maybe under 1% for some businesses, that's before the interchange fees of the credit card issuer(s), which can vary from 1-3%, IME.

I'm still not 100% sold on DSP pedals because of latency, etc... but I've played through a Japanese echoplex knockoff, and I've played through a Roland Space Echo... and I remember having to carry those things around (CAREFULLY.)

Based on his video demo, this pedal is a pretty amazing reproduction of those tape-eating monsters.

Adjustable wow, flutter, tape friction, tape age? Amazing.

Anybody who's got 300 bucks to drop on a pedal and the desire to isn't going to let a lack of paypal hinder them. It might hurt a couple impulse buys here and there, but tons of people have credit cards, so even if your saving your pennies for gear purchases in your paypal account, you can get that transferred to your credit card within in a few days.

This looks like it's powered by the same chip that the Fractal Axe-FX is powered by, but not quite as powerful. If this is true, the latency would be ~1.5 ms. Absolutely imperceptible to a human.

That's good to know. I'm not a pedal guy by any stretch of the imagination, so I had no idea. That sounds awesome.

The newest DSP based pedals don't have any real latency issues. Things have changed a lot.

I'm no programmer by any stretch, but I'm assuming that means they had someone develop all the algorithms for decay, tape age, wow, flutter, etc... from scratch, rather than using off the shelf stuff (existing libraries, VST stuff, etc...) The hardware is only as good as the software you run on it, so if they developed the software from scratch for the hardware... that's pretty mighty.

I guess that's my take on handcrafted?

This is the first and only digital tape delay pedal that I know people are ditching their Fulltone Tube Tape Echos and Roland RE-201s for!!!
