On whose part? I think his take was pretty good, though it's true that he is used to standing out in a mix and might have laid back a little - but bear in mind that this is a bass channel and we're there to hear the bassist. Dart's version is different, but he's also a different guy who had lots of time to think about writing a song with space in it.Just awful playing.
His time was awful, no groove at all, and he seemed to have missed the chord progression at times. Not to excuse arrogance but if one is going to act superior at least they should have exceptional playing to back it up.On whose part? I've seen some on Drumeo that were edited to show the musician actually had time to figure out the parts and do a few takes and they look legit.I don't believe any of these "X reacts to hearing Yb fo for the first time" videos are legitimate.
The illegitimate part is the "X hasn't heard Y" when X is a professional musician and Y has released pervasive music. One of these guys never heard Metallica Enter Sandman. That just isn't possible to be an American musician of a certain age and not hear that song at an instrument store, radio, dj music before or after a set, advertisements, etc.I've seen some on Drumeo that were edited to show the musician actually had time to figure out the parts and do a few takes and they look legit.
Yeah, this goes pretty deep on YT and content creator platforms in general...more than I realized. The illegitimate part is the "X hasn't heard Y" when X is a professional musician and Y has released pervasive music. Yeah I'm kind of on the fence about that. I suspect you're right in some cases. I think a lot of the time "never heard" means "never paid attention to".The illegitimate part is the "X hasn't heard Y" when X is a professional musician and Y has released pervasive music. This legitimately made me laugh. Well said. When Metallica comes on the radio he's probably like "I don't like Rush" and turns it off.

Because they probably are.I don't believe any of these "X reacts to hearing Yb fo for the first time" videos are legitimate.
