Anyhow, Bootsy has lavished praise on Joe Dart and recorded a track with Vulfpeck. I'll take his opinion over whatever Stu may have said seriously/jokingly/whatever.
Bootsy strikes me as a super gracious guy willing to help new bands/players.Maybe there's stuff in between those two extremes.

The most humorous / unfortunate part for me is that SO MUCH critical commentary is spent on a relatively pointless unrehearsed social media POS.
I have no problem with respecting peoples’ different tastes and preferences. Diversity makes our world go round. 5 pages of commmentary on some rehearsed live performance would be one thing.
But, this thread is one big seventh grade food fight; which is precisely what the garbage social media purveyors are pushing down the public throats in the name of click profit. The food fight has no relevance to bass playing.

My band used to be sponsored by 7/11. We were on promo material for them and had to do puff pieces about how we liked slurpees. The reality is that I don't give a damn about slurpees and never drink them, but my patrons were 7/11 and I needed to eat so I said I liked slurpees.
People sometimes don't get Stu's type of humor. He is and always has been a fabulous player and the Urge bass he helped design with Fender in 1993 was their first "signature" model. I actually was amazed at the similarities between what he played and Joe Dart's baseline. Which truly shows that great minds do think alike.
Do you get paid to twist people's words around and make wild extrapolations? Bootsy praised Dart. Then there was communication. Then he appeared on a Vulfpeck track.
Check out Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. Bootsy introduces than and takes credit for naming them. It’s pretty good stuff actually.
