This is a really nice SUB and it is $319 new. I'm tempted to trade in my Squier VM P5 since I love that Stingray sound. The bass really feels like an SR5, just lighter. The neck also has that finish like a regular SR5, not the heavy finish like the Classic.

I have added a video of me doing some Bernard Edwards lines on an actual Classic Stingray.

I picked up a SUB and really liked it. Quality was amazing for the price. Unfortunately, there was a Ray 2 slots over- liked it much better, noticeably better sound and quality.

Long story short, I now own a SR5 HH. All great basses (IMO) but, at least in this case, I think you get what you pay for.

I have owned several genuine Music Man basses, including both a Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray and a Pre-Ernie Ball Sabre that I could kick myself for trading away, so I know this bass is several notches down in components and build quality. Still it is a great budget bass, I appreciate that it has some major Music Man touches like the easy access trussrod adjustment wheel at the bottom of the neck.

Keep that Squier and have both!
At that price you can't afford not to!

I picked one of the S.U.B. fivers a couple months back and was also impressed at the quality for the price. Feels and sounds tight and snappy, though I predict an electronics upgrade would make it a real sleeper. Not ashamed to rock it along with my Squier VM P5 to show the skeptics just how good these modern cheap basses can be. :bassist:

I had a four and was duly impressed. A very *very* nice bass. I flipped it for something I needed worse, but it had about the best glove like natural feel of any bass I ever played. Tremendous value for sure.
