Subdecay Proteus. OK for bass?

I ask because I'm a six stringer with little idea about the noble art of four-stringing. However, my friend Brian Marshall at Subdecay sent me a wicked envelope/random s/h step filter he calls the 'Proteus'. I believe it will be available in the next month or so. I originally demoed it with guitar (which I can play a bit, unlike the bass which eludes me.. ) but some bottom end mates asked me to go the low. So I have.

Your opinions please ladies and gents.
