Sublime- What I Got

Can anyone tell me how they play this song? It's a simple repeating bass line but the tabs online aren't great and what little I have of an ear can't get this to work right.

Yeah, that is what I have printed out but I just can't get it to sound right. I guess I'll keep working at it.

I don't think those tabs are correct... thought they were just major triads on the D and G. Uses the notes below. Let me know how it goes.

I used to play this song with my last band, I can post something on you tube if you cant find anything here or on you tube itself.. there are a few variations that I have found and used..

The bass in that song sounds like it runs together....not sure on what beats the notes are played. I don't hear anything played over the bars of G, just hear the D and the nothing until the next D...does he play over both?

I can do that, and I will let you know when its posted but if you check you tube as well there were a few good examples of the song being played, ( the first three that came up) mine isn't going to be too much different, I play with a little more action then them..and for all I know I may be playing it wrong as well but it sure went with what the band was playing and sounded good..

When I said it was "run together", I meant that it sounds muffled and not very clear. If anything, I hear D-D-F#-A and then G-G-B-D...?

Theres a slide in there that makes it sound a little confussing to some but once your in that groove its not a hard song to play..and there are some variations as well..

The slide from F# to A and from B to D ? I was playing along and sounds good with a hammer on or slide there, to me anyway..but he's sliding in the actual recording you mean?

What changes would you make? Unfortunately, I can't see the Youtube very well.

There not always doubling up on the G (third fret E string) If you look at the tabs on line there are several variations on how to play it, all basically the same but people added in a few different things.. or if you play the riff 4 times its played one way on one and three and another way on two and four.. but still all with in the scope of the song..

I play

D (5th fret A string)
D (5th fret A string)
F# (4th fret D string)
A (7th fret D string)

Then

G (5th fret D string) or 3rd fret E string
G (5th fret D string) or 3rd fret E string
B (4th fret G string ) or 2nd fret A string
D (7th fret G string) or 5th fret A string

I always played it similarly as above except my last note is the C, sounds cooler than repeating the D

it's just major triads.... D and G ...

just play along with the groove... if you got the swing and feel of the song play any rhythm on the D and G that you want as long as it fits.

So the sheet music show's it as D-D---D-G-A and G-G---G-C#-D ?
